I don't know about you, but I work better closer to the deadline. Drives my family crazy, but, like they say, it is what it is. So today's card is for the Moxie Fab Map to Your Heart Challenge which ends tomorrow. If you're motivated by deadlines like me, you've still got plenty of time to play along;)
For this challenge, I was so glad that I could use some vintage atlas maps that I saved from a book destined for the trash bin! {Admit it, you save things from the trash and recycle bins too, right?} I cut the map into squares and rounded opposite corners to shape the petals (the pink layer is slightly bigger than the map layers BTW).
I used my new WPlus9 stamp for the stem. It's supposed to be a clothesline, but I love that it could be used for so many things. I'm also putting this in for the CASE Study #74 challenge with the fantastic inspiration piece from Jen Rzasa. Go check it out!
Thanks for visiting and go Ravens!

This is gorgeous, JJ! Love the pink with that green and I so want that WPlus9 stamp. The layered leaves are a sweet touch too.
ReplyDeleteI usually work close to the deadline too but I've missed one too many lately so am trying to get ahead!
This card is lovely, great way to include a map in your card
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! Love your 'map' flower!!! This inspiration has really stumped me.. and you have totally rocked it!
ReplyDeleteWowzers!!This is out of this world amazing!! LOVE what you've done with the map and petals and the sentiment along the stem. I'm sure this is a winner for all the challenges :) Thanks for playing with us this week over on CASE Study :)
ReplyDeleteThis is DARLING! LOVE the map flower and the sentiment along the stem!
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever. I love how you have used different things to create your flower. I've never seen a map used for a flower, and I don't know why--it works great.
ReplyDeleteDeadlines...without them I'd never get anything done! I'm a last-minute Lucy all the way :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of blue in the button, and the rounded bottom corner, and all the teensy details that you add...I love everything you make :)
Super clever and amazing in so many ways. Love the map "petals", the stamped stem, and the placement of the sentiment. So glad you shared it with us at CASE Study!
ReplyDeleteJJ You VERY VERY CLEVER GIRL!!!! This is so neat! I love how it looks like a daffodil with that fab button center! Great job! And yes I have my own little stash of papers I rescued from the recycle bin too!! I just never seem to use mine!! HA! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, the white cardstock showcases the flower perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I LOVE your map flower! Perfect design!
ReplyDeleteJJ, I love this! Perfection! I love the leaning flower and the way it pokes a wee bit out. ;)
ReplyDeleteI just love this card. The flower leaning is perfect. It's so simple and so very elegant. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
