My Top 6 Favorite Waffle Flower Products Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

Today we're celebrating Waffle Flower's 6th birthday!!!  We're blog hopping with the DT and a bunch of really awesome guest designers showing our top 6 favorite products from Waffle Flower.

For me, my top 6 are:
So here are a few cards using some of my favorite products!  Not in any particular order, my first card uses the Fresh Rainbow Panel Die!  I love rainbows, so this one is a real favorite.  I like that you can use it in a variety of ways (shaker, inlaid, etc.) and you can use it portrait or landscape!

For this one I used solid color cardstock inlaid into the rainbow.  Then I used my die cuts from the Cloudscape Panel die to make clouds in the open windows. The clouds are just layered on top of each other in the openings.  So easy!

My next couple of cards use the Sprigs dies and my nesting circles.  I love dies like the nesting dies and Sprigs dies for their simplicity and their versatility.  I enjoy the challenge of coming up with different ways to use the same products.

For this card, I die cut circles with the Sprigs dies and then backed it with colorful circles.

It's a bit hard to see, but the colorful circles are heat embossed with lots of clear embossing.  They are super shiny and almost look like enamel!

For this card, I did something similar but instead, I watercolored the circle die cuts and put a Sprig die cut on top of each disc.

Last but not least, I used my nesting circle dies again to cut a bunch of them in all different sizes.  Then I just did a random design over the card front.  Each circle is on foam tape.  Because the nesting dies (original and additional) sets cover almost every possible size imaginable, this was super easy to do!

I added the Oversized Hello word die and sentiment to finish it off.

That's it for me today!

You're definitely going to want to check out the rest of the hop.  Here's the full list so you don't miss one stop!

Waffle Flower & Tombow Inspiration Week

Hi everyone!

Hello everyone! We have teamed up with our friends at Tombow to bring you a whole week of inspirations using products from both of our companies!

I'm excited to share a couple cards with you today using my Tombow Dual Brush pens!  I've had these pens for awhile and they are so versatile!  They are water-based ink pens that have a brush tip on one end and a smaller pen nib on the other.

For this card, I masked off a rectangle and did a quick rainbow color.  At this point, you don't have to be super precise.  Then I took water and a paintbrush to blend all the colors.  For larger areas like this, a paintbrush works easier than the Tombow blender pen.  Then it was a just a matter of letting it dry, stamping the sentiment, and adding some raindrops.  Super fast and easy!

For this card, I die cut a bunch of flowers with my Sprigs Dies.  Then I used my markers to color each flower.  For the petal parts, I used 2-3 colors for each flower and then used the blender pen to get some spot blending.  Then I took the same marker (in darker colors) and stippled in the centers of the flowers.  This time, no blending.

This is so easy to do with the Tombow markers because they have a brush tip on one end and a fine point nib on the other.  Then I just "planted" my flowers in a flower box that I made with my Additional A2 dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Definitely check out the other Tombow projects this week!

There will be a giveaway for you to enter on Instagram on Friday for 2 winners to each receive a prize package totaling $150! More details to come! To stay ahead of the game, follow us at @waffleflower.com and Tombow at @tombowusa NOW!

Waffle Flower March 2020 Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

So March at Waffle Flower is a bit different with releases😊 The February and March releases are available on the website in February to coincide with Creativation.  So you may have already seen some of these goodies out there!

This month we have Tulips Combo by Karla Jodoin (includes stamp and die), Little One Baby Combo (includes stamp and die) and Little One Alpha Die by Cassie LoizeauxPuppy Power Combo by Big Bear and Bird (includes stamp and die), Oversized Hello Combo (includes stamp and die), Be a Unicorn Die, and the Sprigs Die.
This release we also have the Nesting Basics 2 bundle with the Additional A2 Layers (stand alone die), Additional Squares (stand alone die), Additional Circles (stand alone die), and Additional Ovals (stand alone die).  These dies are sized to fill the in-between sizes of the original nesting sets previously released .  Together, they cover every size that you would need!  A great value for a crafting staple!
(Click here to see the whole collection)
Let's get to the cards!  For my first card, I used Cassie Loizeaux's adorable Little One Baby Combo.  Cassie always has the cutest images in her sets!  Obviously, this is a baby set, but there are a bunch of cool frames and wreaths too.  You should definitely check it out!  I used all the swaddled little babes to make this fun baby card.  It was so much fun to color each little one.

I used the dies from the Additional A2 Layers (stand alone dieset to create all the little babies in isolettes like in the hospital. If you look closely, you can see I used an embossing folder to make the isolette bed look quilted.  It's all in the details, right?  The sentiment is from the Oversized Hello set.

My second card uses one of my designs from this release, Oversized Hello, with Karla Jodoin's Tulips set.  I thought that the tulips would be so pretty grouped together in the Spring Basket from last month's release.  For the sentiment, I used stacked die cuts and tucked a sentiment strip in there too.

Because of the scale of the sentiment and tulips, this card is larger too.  I love A2-sized cards, but it's always fun to mix it up.

My last two cards today use my new die set called Sprigs.  I love builder sets and I designed this set to be flexible.  The petite branches and flowers work great with all kinds of sets or alone like this card.  There are 11 dies in this set, so I used several to create a rainbow.  This kind of card is great to use up your paper scraps!

For this next card, I die cut the sprigs and colored them with Copics, a Micron pen, and a white gel pen.  I used the Additional Squares dies for the planters. I can't tell you how much fun this was.

For the background, I taped off a rectangle and watercolored a soft blue wash.

That's all for me today!  Next in the hop is the the awesome Rebecca, but here’s the full blog hop list, so you don’t miss a thing!

Waffle Flower February 2020 Release Blog Hop

Hi guys!

I can't believe it's February already!  I'm so excited to share the February Waffle Flower release with you!  This month, Waffle Flower has a bunch of goodies to get you in the mood for Spring!  There's the beautiful Potted Lily Combo (stamp and die) by Karla Jodoin.  If you prefer a floral in a whimsical style, there's the Jars of Happiness Combo (stamp and die) by Cassie Loizeaux with the coordinating Jars Sentiments Stamp Set.  Speaking of whimsical, Waffle Flower also has the adorable Rejoice Rabbit Combo (stamp and die) from Big Bear and Bird.  To round out the stamps, there's the Simply Plaids Combo (stamp and die) that includes a stamp set with 2 types of plaid and a fun texture die!

For the die lovers out there, there are 5 die sets this month!  There's the fun and retro Rainbow Birthday Die.  Just in time for your Easter projects, there's the Spring Basket Die which includes the basket plus goodies to put in it!  This month, we've also got the Easy 3 D Bows Die  and Over the Fence Die sets.  Last but not least, there's the super cute Be a Cat Die which is the die version of the kitty in the previously-release Be Her stamp set.

To see the whole collection visit:
Are you ready to see a few cards?  For my first card, I paired the adorable Rejoice Rabbit with the Spring Basket die.  Can I just say that the Rejoice Rabbit is the cutest!!!  It was so much fun to watercolor that stamp!  I did a bit of no-line watercoloring and even took the painting out to the edge of the die cut.  This gives a softer look without the white outline.

This little bunny fit perfectly in the Spring Basket and I added the little tag from the Over the Fence set for my sentiment (from the Jars Sentiments set).

My next card also uses the Spring Basket but this time for Valentine's Day.  I filled the basket with lots of Valentines using the dies from last month's Mailbox Die set.   If you look closely, the basket has a bunch of debossing lines which really give it so much texture.

The last card for today features the Rainbow Birthday die.  Just like the previously-released Rainbow Thank You die, this fun and unique set includes a combination of dies that allows you to do multiple outlines or just one like I have here.  I paired the word die with another one of my designs the Cake Panel die for this fun card!

I love the playful font of this word die!  So much fun!

That's it for me today!  Next in the hop is the lovely Rebecca, but here’s the full blog hop list, so you don’t miss a thing!

Waffle Flower January 2020 Release Blog Hop

Happy New Year and welcome to the first Waffle Flower release day of 2020!

In our January release, Waffle Flower is excited to bring you another gorgeous floral set illustrated by Karla Jodoin called Blossoms (stampdiecombo). Pair it with the brand new Oversized Love (stampdiecombo) or any of the popular oversized words designed by our fellow cardmaker JJ Bolton for a bold and sophisticated look.

You will also find the sweetest couple of critters in Love You Bunnies (stampdiecombo) and a fun 2-step-layering lovebird letter carrier in Special Delivery (stamp) illustrated by Cassie Loizeaux. The Nesting Postage set (die) includes 6 stand-alone dies in the shape of a classic postage stamp to help you complete the look of a Special Delivery and is available with the stamp set as a combo

If you can’t get enough panel dies, Waffle Flower has 3 for you this month!  The Hearts panel die features a full A2-sized pattern of adorable mini hearts with stitching detail around the edges. The Sweet Scallops panel die combines the look of classic stripes with the charm of scallops.  It has a built-in diamond panel that works with many of the Waffle Flower sentiment sets.  Last but not least, there is the Fresh Rainbow panel die and coordinating Fresh Rainbow Sentiment stamp set (stamp, die, combo).  This combo will brighten up your new year!

To see the whole collection visit:

Now let's see some of the these new goodies in action!  My first card uses a couple of my new die designs, Oversized Love and Hearts panel.  I just love the font and size of the "love you" word die!  For this card, I blended some inks onto a scrap piece of paper and then die cut.  Then I did a bit of misting and splattering with some white gouache.

For the background, I used the panel die but did not break up the pieces.  The white-on-white is such a cute and easy background.  The sentiment strip uses a stamp from the companion Oversized Love stamp set.  I love how you can nest the sentiment strip into the loops and curves of the word die.  I love the little details like this.

I used the same word die for my next card, but this time I went dramatic!  I layered two word die cuts over a floral background using Karla Jodoin's new set Blossoms.  I stamped the flowers and clear embossed them to get this shiny black on matte black look.  The I just added a sprinkling of mirrored gems.  I love that you can get two totally different looks with the same die!

This next card uses the sweet Love You Bunnies set from Cassie Loizeaux!  That set is full of the cutest stamps!  I used one of the bunnies to create a support card using a sentiment from the Fresh Rainbows sentiment set.  The background was created by layering the Hearts panel die over strips made with the Vertical Stripes die.  You can use the stripes as is to get the split color look or offset to get a solid color look.

The last card for today features the Fresh Rainbow panel die and sentiments. Being from Hawai‘i basically means that you are born loving rainbows 😉(they don't call it the Rainbow State for nothing).  So it's no surprise that I like paper rainbows too!

For this card, the new panel die does most of the heavy lifting and just needed a bit of blended and misted ink and die cut clouds (using the previously-released Rainbow Panel die set).  This sentiment from the Fresh Rainbow sentiment set was just what I was needing for the start of this new year!

That's it for me today!  The Design Team has really outdone themselves this month creating cards with the new release, so I really hope you get a chance to click through the whole hop!  Here’s the full blog hop list, so you don’t miss a thing!
